About the Role
VETWORK is supporting the search for an experienced HSE Advisor to join a growing project delivery team working across major construction and engineering projects.
This is a hands-on site-based role where you will play a key part in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors and site management to ensure safe working practices are implemented and maintained throughout all phases of project delivery.
This opportunity would suit an established HSE professional who enjoys being operationally involved, building relationships on site and driving a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Monitor compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
• Support project teams in implementing safe systems of work.
• Review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
• Assist with incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure permits to work are completed correctly and appropriately managed.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Monitor welfare facilities and site setup standards.
• Ensure statutory notices and safety information are displayed correctly.
• Promote a proactive and positive safety culture across all project teams.
• Liaise with subcontractors to ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
• Produce reports and communicate findings to project stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
• Previous experience working within a construction or engineering environment.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
• Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience conducting inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within fast-paced project environments.
Desirable Requirements
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• IOSH Membership.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
• Data centre, logistics, manufacturing or industrial project experience.
• Experience reviewing RAMS and permit-to-work systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
