About the Role
VETWORK is supporting the search for Assistant Design Managers to join a growing project delivery team working across major construction and engineering projects throughout the UK and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from engineering or architectural backgrounds who are looking to develop their careers within design management and project delivery.
Working alongside experienced Design Managers and project teams, you will play a key role in supporting the coordination and delivery of design information throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and eager to develop within a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the coordination and management of design activities across multiple projects.
• Assist with design reviews, technical coordination meetings and project workshops.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor design programmes and track key deliverables.
• Support the management of design documentation and approvals.
• Assist in identifying design risks, clashes and coordination issues.
• Maintain accurate project records and reporting information.
• Support communication between design and construction teams.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Essential Requirements
• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Flexible approach to project locations and travel requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within collaborative project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Desirable Requirements
• Previous construction or engineering project experience.
• Experience in a Design Coordinator, Project Coordinator or similar role.
• Knowledge of construction project delivery processes.
• Familiarity with BIM and design management systems.
• Ambition to progress into a Design Manager position.
• Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or Architectural background.
