Freelance Trainers – Defence, Security & Emerging Technology
UAE | November 2026 – May 2027
VETWORK is building a pool of experienced freelance trainers to support a major national training programme delivered across the UAE between November 2026 and May 2027.
The programme will support Emirati high-school graduates and will include structured, classroom-based training across a number of specialist subject areas.
We are currently seeking experienced instructors with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Introduction to Risk Management
Protection of National Critical Infrastructure
Artificial Intelligence
Candidates do not need to be qualified across all three subject areas. Applications are welcomed from specialists with strong expertise in any one or more of these disciplines.
Engagement
Freelance / contract engagement
Programme delivery expected between November 2026 and May 2027
Individual courses are expected to run for approximately 10 training days
Approximately 6 instructional/contact hours per delivery day
Delivery locations may include multiple Emirates across the UAE
Exact schedules and individual trainer allocations will be confirmed as the programme develops
Rates will be confirmed prior to engagement

Defence and military operations
National security
Critical infrastructure protection
Risk management
Emergency management and resilience
Security operations
Government or public-sector security
Intelligence and threat assessment
Cyber or technology-enabled security
Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
Defence technology
Strategic planning
Crisis management
Candidates may come from military, government, law enforcement, security, technology, academic or relevant commercial backgrounds.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
Strong professional expertise in their specialist subject area
The ability to translate technical or operational knowledge into clear, engaging training
Confidence delivering instructor-led classroom sessions
Strong communication and presentation skills
The ability to engage effectively with younger adult learners
Professionalism suitable for a high-profile UAE training environment
Availability for freelance delivery during the programme period
Previous instructional, training, teaching or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
Language Requirements
We are seeking both Arabic-speaking and English-speaking instructors.
Bilingual Arabic-English capability will be particularly advantageous.

Depending on the subject area, suitable candidates may include:
Current or former military officers and senior NCOs
Defence and security professionals
Critical infrastructure specialists
Risk and resilience professionals
Emergency planning specialists
Intelligence professionals
AI and emerging-technology specialists
Technology trainers and consultants
Security academics or instructors
Experienced defence-sector trainers
Formal training or instructional qualifications are advantageous but will be considered alongside relevant operational and professional experience.
Location
Training will be delivered across the United Arab Emirates, potentially including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra, Dubai, Sharjah, Eastern Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
