Planner / Scheduler
Location: UK (Project Based)
Salary: £50,000 + Package
We are currently supporting a major engineering and construction organisation delivering complex projects across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Planner / Scheduler to join a high-performing project delivery team working on large-scale construction and engineering programmes.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for an organised and proactive planning professional looking to develop their career within a fast-paced project environment.
Working alongside project managers, engineers and commercial teams, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
You will support planning activities from tender stage through to project completion, providing accurate reporting, programme analysis and schedule management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the development and maintenance of project programmes using Primavera P6.
Support the creation of tender and pre-construction schedules.
Monitor project progress and update programmes on a weekly basis.
Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain look-ahead programmes and short-term construction schedules.
Monitor design, procurement and construction activities against programme milestones.
Identify potential delays and contribute to mitigation and recovery planning.
Collect and analyse project data to support programme updates and reporting.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure programme information remains accurate and up to date.
Support Senior Planners and Project Management teams across multiple projects.
Assist with project controls and planning activities as required.
Essential Experience
Previous experience in a Planner, Scheduler, Project Controls, Coordination or Operations Planning role.
Experience creating and maintaining project schedules and programmes.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience producing reports, KPIs and performance updates.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers and project teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience using Primavera P6.
Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or industrial projects.
Knowledge of project controls and programme management principles.
Experience using ERP, MRP or scheduling systems.
Understanding of resource planning and workload management.
