Overview
VETWORK is supporting a client seeking an experienced EMT or Medic holding a valid Seaman’s Book for an immediate maritime deployment. This is an operational medical support role embedded within a vessel-based environment, providing frontline medical care, emergency response capability, and health support to personnel throughout the deployment.
The initial task is expected to last approximately 120 days, however candidates should be aware that the requirement may extend beyond the original scope due to anticipated follow-on work and additional client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide primary emergency medical care to deployed personnel.
Respond to medical incidents, trauma cases and occupational health requirements.
Conduct routine medical assessments and maintain medical records.
Manage onboard medical equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals.
Deliver first aid and medical briefings as required.
Liaise with vessel management and operational leadership regarding medical matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable maritime and client medical standards.
Support casualty evacuation planning and medical contingency procedures.
Essential Requirements
Qualified EMT, Paramedic, Combat Medic or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
Valid Seaman’s Book (mandatory).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Life Support qualification preferred.
Previous experience working in maritime, offshore, military, security or remote environments.
Valid passport with ability to deploy at short notice.
Strong English communication skills.
Physically fit and medically deployable.
Desirable Requirements
Offshore medical experience.
Military medical background.
Experience supporting government, defence or security operations.
Advanced trauma qualifications.
STCW certifications.
Previous vessel-based deployment experience.
